Stop Children From Getting Abducted From Their Bedrooms and Protect Alzheimer's and Autism Patients... Products That Work
Ways to keep children safe and at home. Learn about products to keep intruders unable to gain entry into a home. The same products also help protect Alzheimer's and autism patients. Learn how to make sure you don't wake up to find your child walking down the middle of the highway!

/Missouri News Articles/ - KANSAS CITY, MO, January 14, 2007 - The news is filled with unbelievable stories of children being kidnapped from right under their parent's noses inside of their own homes. There are also amazing stories of parents waking up to realize that their children have wandered out of the house and are in dangerous situations. Caregivers for Alzheimer's and autism patients can also get peace of mind with these same safety devices. Safety and Security Source offers parents and families solutions to prevent their children and loved ones from being among the next victims.

Tracey Hawkins, owner of Safety and Security Source says that there are simple and inexpensive alarms on the market that can help parents and families keep their children and loved ones safe at home.

"The frustrating thing is that these products have been on the market for a while and are relatively inexpensive, people just don't know about them. They are also very easy to use." Hawkins makes the products available on her company's website along with her expertise on use.

The products that Hawkins recommends include magnetic contact alarms for windows and doors. She recommends that the bedroom windows and sliding glass doors and entry doors have the alarms in place. The magnetic alarms are two-part; one adheres to the frame and one to the window/door+. When the window/door is opened and the alarms separate, it creates an immediate and loud alarm. That will alert the parents/caregivers and typically scare the would-be intruder away. This also warns parents if kids (or Alzheimer's/autism patients) are attempting to get out of the window.

Motion Detectors cover movement in a specific area. The mobile alarms can be placed inside of the window and pointed outside, as well as inside the room in front of the windows. When motion is detected within that area, the alarm sounds. Entry can be prevented.

Both items are battery operated, offer simple set-up and are priced under $25.00.

Hawkins claims that she has also seen families with Alzheimer's patients and kids with autism use these products for keeping track of their loved ones and keep them safe within the house. She has even had parents concerned about sneaky teens, use the alarms to keep track of them and keep them inside!

She is excited to offer a new product designed to keep kids safe when out in public. The two-part (one for the parent and one for the child/patient) electronic child tracking system allows parents to adjust the boundary between them from 10' to 300'. If the child (or Alzheimer's patient) wanders outside of that zone, an alarm sounds on the parent's (or caregivers) unit.

"It is basically, an electronic leash. You can have peace of mind when out shopping, in an amusement/theme park and when out and about. You know that if the child/patient wanders too far, you will hear an alarm and be able to get to them before they are harmed." Hawkins hopes to get these alarms into widespread use to offer safety to many who are limited due to fear.
