/Missouri News Articles/ - ST. LOUIS, MO, April 26, 2008 - In observation of Earth Day 2008, Computime, Inc. took its interest in the environmental impact of paper-related deforestation one step further by donating a portion of its proceeds to American Forests' Global ReLeaf projects. Computime's contribution will help plant, trees, fund environmental education, and promote community-based forestry projects.

Computime, Inc. is a leading distributor of electronic signature capture products that enable businesses to greatly reduce or eliminate paper in a wide range of common business procedures such as application processing, contract administration, and document management. In addition to helping businesses speed transactions, reduce costs, and improve customer experiences, electronic signature technology helps reduce the environmental burden of manufacturing paper and related office equipment by allowing documents to be legally signed without first being printed to paper.

"Computime understands the need for action in the fight to preserve the environment," said Lew Levey, President and CEO of Computime, Inc., "and we are proud to have spent over 12 years exclusively focused on a technology that helps make a difference by saving trees. We are also aware that reducing, reusing, and recycling alone is not enough to reverse the damage that has been done. We hope that our contribution to American Forests will inspire others to take similar action in restoring our planet to a state we can comfortably leave to future generations."

Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a nationwide grassroots demonstration on behalf of the environment. It is celebrated annually on April 22, a date chosen to honor John Muir, the father of our National Parks system, who organizers mistakenly believed was born on April 22. In fact, he was born on April 21.

American Forests is a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests.
