St. Louis Telecom Firm CTI Lands Major Contract With Westminster College
Connects Buildings and Dorms with First Toshiba StrataCIX 1200 System to be Installed in the Nation


    CHESTERFIELD, MO, October 24, 2008 /Missouri News Articles/ -- Communications Technologies Inc.,
(CTI) one of the fastest growing telecommunications and data networking firms in the St. Louis region, announces they have secured a contract with Westminster College in Fulton, MO to supply the school with a VoIP business communication system, including networking and phones, that connects administrative staff, faculty and students across the school's campus.

CTI is supplying the college with the Toshiba Strata CIX 1200 system, the first such installation of the 1200 system in the nation. The Strata CIX is connecting some 500 digital phones with speakers for campus-wide use and will provide students with instant communication in case of an emergency.

"Our goal was to secure something easier to manage and that actually costs less to run than our existing system," said Scott Lowe, Westminster's Chief Information Officer. "We also wanted to work with a vendor that better understood our needs. We have all that now with this Toshiba system and CTI."

Childs, CTI's Account Executive on the project, said the system can be expanded for up to 800 phones. In addition CTI is supplying the college with SIP Trunks to lower costs for long distance calling.
