Mr. Alvarez has more than 23 years of successful marketing, sales and senior management experience. He was born in Cuba and moved with his family to Miami in 1969. He then earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. Throughout his career, he has worked in management roles where "a strong entrepreneur spirit" is the cornerstone for success. In 1997, he established Nortel Ecuador operations as the Account Manager supporting Porta Celular, the region's major mobile systems provider. From 1999 to 2001, he worked throughout Latin America as Director of Business Development with Western Wireless, negotiating with governments and business leaders to acquire mobile telephony licenses. Six years ago, he worked in Haiti to re-launch and re-brand Comcel, the region's leading mobile operator. After Haiti, he served as International Business Director for the Digicel Group with responsibilities to drive and manage a $300 million revenue line across Digicel's operations spanning 26 countries.
